RL Liquidators Hazardous Materials Supervisor

Summary:

An RL Liquidators Hazardous Materials Supervisor is a vital component of the safe functioning of RL Liquidators. They oversee storage, moving, and managing hazardous and non-hazardous materials and keeping records of any waste materials. This entails assisting in supervising the Hazardous Materials department, but also performing any duties, as necessary, that would be required of a team member. The Hazardous Materials Supervisor is responsible for the daily operation of the department. They are to ensure a safe and efficient work environment for all team members.

Day to Day Duties:

  • Open the location
  • Clock in
  • Unlock doors
  • Turn off alarms
  • Turn on lights
  • Ensure that warehouse and workspaces are clean and organized
  • Ensure that all team members have the equipment they need for the day
  • Ensure that bathrooms are clean
  • Ensure daily forklift inspections are completed
  • Either attend warehouse safety meeting or conduct morning meeting with team members as assigned
  • Delegate the daily tasks to team members
  • Conduct safety meeting weekly with team members
  • Managing inventory by identifying, cataloging, and recording the location of inventory.
  • Maintain spreadsheets logging hazardous waste
  • Receive hazardous materials from stores and properly document and dispose of the materials
  • Perform inventory and maintain accurate inventory levels
  • Travel to store locations to clean spills, train on proper storage of materials, or other duties as assigned by the manager
  • Ensure that team members are sorting items effectively and appropriately
  • Cleaning and maintaining the warehouse
  • Keeping in constant communication with the team members and providing necessary support to the team
  • Load and unload trucks
  • Communicate with the Compliance Department as the need arises
  • Clock out

Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that all team members are aware of the goals and visions of the store each day
  • Controlling workflow by ensuring that all team members are fulfilling their daily duties in an appropriate amount of time
  • Responding to all team member communication and addressing any concerns that a team member has
  • Documenting all team member performance, attendance, communication, or any issues that arise
  • Partnering with the Manager for the hiring and separating of team members
  • Following up with Human Resources to ensure all paperwork has been received
  • Ensuring that all team members are trained and aware of all safety measures
  • Ensuring that any team member that operates machinery is properly trained and certified
  • Ensuring that there is a safe working environment for all team members
  • Ensuring that all team members have completed and comply with discrimination and sexual harassment training
  • Breaking team members at the correct times as according to state law
  • Ensuring that all team members are clocking in/out correctly and checking for missed punch forms if necessary
  • Notifying the Manager if other employees do not take appropriate breaks or clock in and out correctly
  • Communicating with team members calling out for a shift and responding appropriately while keeping documentation of the contact
  • Properly receiving trucks and submitting all necessary paperwork as required
  • Staying up to date on environmental trainings and state law
  • Routinely inspecting area for health and safety issues
  • Perform safe handling and processing of hazardous materials
  • Reporting any need of supplies to the manager
  • Maintaining a safe working environment for all team members
  • Communicating any concerns to the manager
  • Taking breaks and lunches on time according to state law
  • Communicating promptly with the manager any sick days, late arrivals, and requests of time off
  • Filling out the missed punch form if clock in/out is done incorrectly
  • Notifying manager if other employees do not take appropriate breaks or clock in and out correctly
  • Notifying manager of any theft
  • Adhering to EPA training
  • Completing and complying with discrimination and sexual harassment prevention training
  • Reporting employee misconduct to the manager or Human Resources
  • Attending management meetings as required
  • Showing up to each shift on time
  • Submitting time off requests to the manager no less than two weeks from the desired date
  • Working overtime shifts as necessary
  • Becoming and remaining forklift certified

Qualifications:

· Ability to follow instructions

· Previous managerial experience

· Ability to work in a team environment

· Ability to lift up to 70 lbs

· Ability to operate a forklift

· Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment

· Excellent project management skills

Education:

· Basic math, reading, and writing skills

· Understanding of the importance of and basic requirements of regulatory agencies such as the FDA, OSHA, and EPA
