Lead Global Supply Managers, Capex with Rivian Automotive, LLC in Palo Alto, CA. Lead technical sourcing, commercial development, and industrialization of Rivian Capex Body Manufacturing Supply Chain, increasing internal build capabilities through smart, effective capex strategy creation and execution. Support Capex design, execution, and life cycle sustaining of new factories and equipment projects with manufacturing engineering partners and key cross-functional teams. Responsible to build and maintain unique understanding of supply base, market conditions, and technology roadmaps and identify technologies, suppliers, assess capabilities. Work with suppliers to negotiate optimal pricing, terms for sourcing, manage change orders, value additions, price reductions throughout equipment design, fabrication, assembly, installation, commissioning, and post startup maintenance. Steer contractual negotiations with suppliers executing Purchase Agreements and Statement of Works. Understand the technical aspects of equipment to identify opportunities for cost and labor optimization. Develop understanding of the commodity landscape to develop and maintain sourcing strategies. Assess and mitigate supply chain and project timing risks to the business as well as dispute resolutions of complex manufacturing issues. Communicate directly with senior leadership team on key strategic supplier and technology-based decisions and contribute to reporting activities to track team KPIs for Executive presentations. Monitor capex spend forecast, totals, timing, and risk with Rivian Finance team, including internal guidance to improve. Facilitate education and training for employees on procurement policies and best practices. Domestic travel required approximately 20% of the time.
RQMTS: Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Engineering Management, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related field and one year of experience in any occupation involving supply chain management, management consulting or related. Experience must include identifying process issues and drive improvements; working with Automotive, Electronics or a similar high-volume manufacturing Industry; utilizing BI software, Tableau, VBA, SAP, Coupa, and SQL; utilizing analytical skills and technical literacy to solve complex cross-functional issues; performing cost modeling, financial analysis, and executive presentation; and managing projects globally.
