Job Overview

We are looking for a Part-Time Community Outreach Specialist that will contribute to the success and growth of our ministries by increasing awareness of our mission and leading with our Core Values. This position will work an average of 20-29 hours per week at the RiverWILD office located in Clayton, NC.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of community events, including but not limited to community meals, fundraisers, seasonal ministries, and workshops
  • Collaborate with team members to develop event concepts, themes, and timelines
  • Recruit, onboard, and train volunteers for various tasks and events
  • Maintain volunteer schedules and ensure adequate coverage for all activities
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for volunteers, addressing inquiries and providing support as needed
  • Track volunteer hours and activities accurately using databases or spreadsheets
  • Assist in developing volunteer appreciation initiatives to recognize and retain volunteers
  • Create engaging and relevant content for social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn
  • Collaborate with the team to develop content calendars and schedules to ensure consistent posting and alignment with organizational goals and events
  • Curate multimedia content such as photos, videos, and graphics to enhance posts and increase audience engagement
  • Assist with establishing partnerships with local businesses, organizations, farms, food resource programs, and community groups to support program goals and initiatives

Qualifications

  • Experience with fundraising, event planning, and/or community outreach
  • Non-profit experience a plus
  • Experience with social media platforms and content creation
  • Resourcefulness and creativity to leverage resources and relationships to advance the mission
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Good communication skills
  • Highly motivated and goal-oriented

Compensation

Compensation will be discussed in the interview process based on experience and skill level.
