EDUCATIONAL AND TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS: individual who fills position must have the desire to serve senior citizens in an efficient, patient, and friendly manner. Must possess at least three years of experience in food and customer service. Must possess a valid Food Handlers permit.
PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS: Must possess good physical health and have a desire to work with seniors. Needs to be a self-starter, requiring minimal direct supervision. Shall be well organized, have high standards, and be able to provide the highest quality service to the residents and all other diners.
AUTHORITY AND ACCOUNTABILITY: Lead Dining Room Server be under the authority of and directly accountable to the Dining Room Supervisor. The Lead Dining Room server will assist the Dining Room Supervisor in supervising the dining room staff.
PROPER ATTIRE: The responsibility of the employee is to provide, and wear Company approved colored pants or skirt, plain black socks, and safe, closed toed, non-slip, plain black, work shoes. Tennis shoes, sandals, moccasins, clogs, or any other non-safe footwear may not be worn. The Company shall provide a sufficient number of approved colored shirts and one approved name badge. A clean, neat, and professional appearance shall be maintained at all times in accordance with the established dress code policy.
POSITION SUMMARY: This is an hourly paid position, requiring forty hours and five days per week. The Lead Server assumes the overall responsibility for expediting food during meal service hours, and in conjunction with the Dining Room Supervisor, provides active participation of the dining room operation to ensure the smooth flow of service to residents at mealtimes. Ensures fast, efficient and quality resident service, and ensures the organization and cleanliness of the dining room and related areas at all times.
PERSONNEL MANAGEMENT:
A. Understand and adhere to all State and Federal Labor Laws.
B. Be part of the recruitment and employment process for dining room staff in accordance with corporate and facility policies and standards.
C. Train the dining room staff in all aspects of the job.
D. Inform the Dining Room Supervisor of progress made in training new staff.
E. Assist the Dining Room Supervisor in setting up the dining room for banquets, buffets, etc.
F. Ensure communications between the kitchen and dining room staff is always on a professional level
