RiverView Health, is a community owned, membership based non-profit organization that was formed in 1898 and continues to be the sole community hospital in Crookston, MN.

RiverView Health operates a 25 bed Critical Access Hospital, RiverView Recovery Center; a chemical dependency outpatient treatment program, RiverView Home Care and five primary care and specialty clinics in the hospitals service area.

Responsibilities

RiverView Health has an opening for a full-time (80 hours every 2 weeks) Patient Access Representative. This position would work shifts between 7 a.m. – 7 p.m. in our Crookston Clinic and would work a weekend rotation. The Patient Access Representative answers the phones and schedules patients, greets and registers patients while collecting and entering all information required to accurately check in the visit, communicates directly with patients and families, physicians, nurses and insurance companies, performs system insurance verification either real time electron or manual verification for eligibility, performs collection, at point of service, of co-pays and payments, obtains signatures for all necessary documents, and safeguards and reconciles all monies collected daily in compliance to cash handling policies and procedures.

This position will also be cross trained to the Emergency Department to help cover Patient Access responsibilities in that area as needed.

Salary range is $17.60 - $24.64 per hour and starting wage is dependent on experience and shift differential is paid for working evening or night shifts. A sign on bonus is available.

Qualifications

• Minimum two (2) years of customer service experience is required.
• Experience in Patient Access and/or Epic is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology, insurance preferred.
