Riverview Community Bank is Hiring an Investment Associate Near Vancouver, WA

SUMMARY:

Provide direct client brokerage services, as well as administrative and client support to the Senior Investment Executive. Provide account information and documentation assistance to clients, including new account forms, application submission and processing transactions. Work independently and with Senior Investment Executive to promote Riverview Community Bank and Riverview Trust Company.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Engage in sales activities for smaller engagements, including the following:
    • Directly seek prospects and actively sell investment brokerage services in the assigned market area.
    • Coordinate sales activities with other areas of the Bank, involving Investment Management and Trust Services staff in team selling.
    • Maintain effective contacts with other departments and divisions within the Bank, and cross‑sell bank services to prospective Investment Management and Trust Service customers as necessary to establish strong customer loyalty.
  • Prepare and ensure new business paperwork processes successfully, which may include preparing forms, obtaining appropriate signatures, proofreading and preparing documentation to send to home office.
  • Data entry of new clients into Contact Management system and directly with the Broker Dealer
  • Maintain retention records required by the Broker Dealer.
  • Provide necessary follow-up of paperwork with the Broker Dealer and direct sponsors.
  • Acts as primary liaison between the branch and back office to assist Investment Executive
  • Provide administration assistance and data entry with several platforms used to maintain client accounts.

Additional duties and responsibilities:

  • Observe all Riverview Community Bank policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

RELATIONSHIPS:

  • Daily contact with supervisor.
  • Occasional contact with clients.
  • Periodic contact with industry professionals.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

AA and two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Riverview employees with five or more years of service with Riverview (or in banking or finance) are eligible to apply. Must hold Series 6 or 7, series 63 and Life, Accident and Health licenses. Investment and/or insurance experience preferred.

SKILLS:

  • Must be a self-starter and work independently with little or no supervision.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to run reports and write business correspondence, and follow procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from clients and customers in a professional manner.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Requires intermediate skills associated with the use of computers and other office equipment.
  • The ability to offer flexibility in a changing work environment is imperative.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms in accessing and working with files. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee may be asked to move files, boxes, or small pieces of furniture and must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision in working with written forms and computers.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock in working with standard office equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

The salary for this role will be between $52,108 and $75,036. The specific salary offered will depend on several factors including but not limited to applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience. Hired candidate may be eligible for healthcare benefits, 401K plan, short term & long-term disability coverage, life insurance, vacation & sick time, educational assistance, and several holidays. Certain roles are eligible for additional rewards.
