Building Maintenance Technician

Overview
Riverview Innovation Center is hiring a full-time maintenance worker for a large commercial office building located in Menands, NY. The maintenance worker reports to the maintenance supervisor and office management.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for the general upkeep and cleanliness of the building as well as safety and well being of the building tenants
- Maintain positive working relationships with tenants, responding to requests and issues in a timely, professional, and courteous manner.
- Complete work orders throughout the building including, but not limited to, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry.
- Record maintenance and repair information in work order system pertaining to each assigned work order.
- Perform minor fixes, such as repairing broken locks, door repairs, light bulbs and ballasts, ceiling tiles, etc.
- Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems.
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance throughout the building and grounds.
- Respond to after-hours emergency calls by participating in the on-call rotation schedule.
Requirements
- Good safety habits, working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and carpentry
- Experience working with tools, including hand and electrical tools
- Excellent time management and communication skills
- Willingness to learn
- Must be able to respond to emergency calls on nights and weekends through on call
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to climb ladders
- Must be able to endure walking, squatting, bending, balancing, kneeling, and prolonged standing
- Previous experience with maintenance of commercial buildings is preferred but not required
