Maintenance Manager - Housing cooperatives

Riverton Community Housing is looking to hire a Maintenance Manager!

We are a market-rate, non-profit housing provider that owns and manages properties in Minneapolis near the University of Minnesota.

Our mission is "To develop and maintain quality housing communities operating on a non-profit, democratic basis."

We operate 7 Cooperative housing locations that provide almost 600 independent-living apartments.

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for:

• Overseeing the daily repair, maintenance, and cleaning work of the Maintenance Technicians, Custodians and Caretakers,
• Scheduling and implementation of apartment turns,
• Coordinating and working with external vendors,
• Managing and participating in the after-hours emergency on-call schedule,
• Performing Maintenance Tech responsibilities as part of the maintenance team,
• Ensuring a quality housing experience for our members through the application of their skills in customer service, plumbing, electrical, boilers/HVAC, and carpentry.

The successful candidate will:

• Have 5 or more years’ experience performing maintenance duties in an apartment or hotel setting,
• Have at least 1 year of experience in a supervisory setting,
• Have at least 1 year of experience managing work orders through a property management software application,
• Possess a Minnesota boiler operator’s license,
• Have a strong mechanical aptitude with a high level of skills in a wide variety of construction trades,
• Be familiar with Microsoft business software applications Word, Excel, Outlook
• Have excellent communication skills,
• Be willing to participate in after-hours emergency on call,
• Be willing to work “turnovers” the last and first day of every month,
• Enjoy working independently to solve problems for others while providing top notch customer service,
• Have a valid U.S. issued driver’s license, reliable personal vehicle, and proof of auto insurance.
• Must live within 30 minutes of our properties.
