Day to day as a Freight Broker

As a Freight Broker at Riverside Logistics, you will play a vital role in managing the transportation of goods by aligning carriers with loads originating from the Port of Richmond. Your responsibilities will include negotiating competitive freight rates, generating essential documentation, and monitoring the progress of each shipment. You will be the key point of contact for carriers, ensuring timely deliveries and resolving any potential issues efficiently. Moreover, your attention to detail and dedication to customer satisfaction will be instrumental in handling freight claims and safeguarding seamless operations. To excel as a Freight Broker at Riverside Logistics, candidates should possess a High School Diploma or Equivalent, with a BS/BA College Degree preferred. Ideal applicants will have three to five years of experience in the Transportation Industry and Transportation Management Systems, with TIA Certified Transportation Broker certification considered a plus. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are crucial for effectively liaising with carriers and customers.

Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel is essential for generating reports and maintaining accurate records. The ability to travel within a designated sales area to foster business growth is also a key requirement for this dynamic role. Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
