Position Overview

The Assistant Plan Coordinator reports to the Plan Manager and is an integral part of the team. This position will assist in managing plans and changes for new homes which will include interfacing with all stakeholders and assisting with various other duties related to plan design and implementation.


Responsibilities

  • Support the estimating department from an address plan perspective through the review of activity items and plan sets for discrepancies ensuring the accuracy of plans and related activities and eliminating field construction technique discrepancies.
  • Assist with the communication related to plan updates between Riverside departments and 3rd party plan design companies as it relates to the new plan creation and updating of base plans.
  • Broadcast plan updates to internal and external departments to align production consistency, base plan revisions, and estimated quantities for an accurate flow of activities.
  • Assist the plan manager as needed with base plan reviews related to construction plan updates and the assessment of development plans.
  • Ensure changes and modifications are delivered to vested parties for plan notice and clarification resulting in a consistent quality product across building divisions.
  • Assist in reducing direct construction costs by eliminating wasted material and labor and the value engineering of product lines.

Knowledge, skills, and experience

  • Construction knowledge in reading building prints and building materials, preferably residential homebuilding.
  • Minimum 1 year of general experience in the building industry.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, preferred but not required.
  • Ability to analyze reports related to material and labor organizational aptitude to coordinate verbal, written, and system generated information.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Direct experience with: Buildtopia an added plus.
