Job Overview:
We're seeking a dedicated Groundskeeper to be a part of our dynamic team. The ideal candidate is someone who shares our commitment to excellence and community spirit, with a strong enthusiasm for maintaining beautiful and welcoming surroundings. Your primary responsibility will be the meticulous upkeep of our property's grounds, ensuring a visually delightful and safe environment for all our guests and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and maintain the external facility's overall well-being.
- Conduct thorough daily inspections at the start of each shift, ensuring facility grounds are functioning optimally.
- Regularly document maintenance activities, filling out detailed reports, and logs for review by the Director of Facilities.
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair tools and equipment, liaising with the Director of Facilities for complex issues.
- Promptly respond to requests for assistance related to the property grounds.
- Supervise and communicate with subcontractors for grounds-related activities.
- Uphold cleanliness standards by managing waste and recyclable materials appropriately.
- Engage in various landscaping tasks, including but not limited to sod laying, mowing, trimming, planting, watering, fertilizing, and mulching.
- Operate and maintain a variety of tools and powered equipment safely and competently.
- Participate in the upkeep and care of lawns, trees, and gardens, including irrigation and pruning activities.
- Ensure the overall aesthetic appeal of the property grounds.
- Adhere to Riverside Convention Center's grooming and uniform standards.
- Maintain a secure working environment by adhering to safety protocols.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, assisting coworkers and communicating with supervisors.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent experience required.
- Proven experience in a groundskeeping or landscaping role.
- Comfortable working at high elevations on lifts, ladders and scaffolding.
- Proficiency in operating maintenance tools and equipment.
- Basic understanding of electrical and irrigation systems.
- Strong attention to detail with a keen eye for aesthetics.
- Excellent physical condition and strength with a willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.50 - $19.00 per hour
