Seeking those who can work flex shifts! We have an amazing opportunity for you! Our growing agency is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurses for an opportunity in private duty group care. If you want to receive direct one on one training, learn an abundance of care skills, work with adults and pediatrics, and use your nursing judgement to make healthcare related decisions for your patients WITHOUT the stress of having 15 or more ill patients at one time, then this is the perfect opportunity for you! The LPNs will provide direct care and care coordination to three (3) medically, up to four (4) clients MAXIMUM in a professional and considerate manner. You will work under the supervision of a Clinical RN and physicians according to the clients' plan of care. LPN professionals must be detail oriented and compassionate. You must always be willing to learn to get the most out of this opportunity. The ideal candidates will be providing an array of basic and skilled care to the children while remaining patient and calm. The clients enjoy interaction and playful activity (as appropriate considering medical conditions).

The primary service area is Valrico, FL. The shifts at this location are a combination of 8hrs and 12hr shifts, ranging from 7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm, 11pm-7am, 7am-7pm and 7pm-7am. The requirement for this position is to be able to work as a flex shift nurse, alternating between two night shifts and one day shift per week, up to 36hrs per week. OT available as approved by management. We are seeking enthusiastic new nurses who want to start and grow their careers in residential care, the hidden gem of nursing!

LPN Responsibilities:

  • Daily assessments of clients
  • Performing assigned duties, including administration of medication, tube feeding, wound care, treatments, and procedures, and more
  • Assesses the effectiveness of the treatment to ensure that the patient receives the most comprehensive, high-quality, and appropriate care possible
  • Provides nursing care and prescribed treatments for patients in their home, according to the physician's plan of care as supervised by RN while following confidentiality and professional boundaries
  • Monitoring clients' conditions; reporting changes to Clinical Manager.
  • Following up with, executing, and properly documenting doctors' orders.
  • Documentation of client status and changes
  • Assist patients in daily necessary activities such as eating, bathing etc.
  • Teach and counsel the patient family regarding the nursing care needs and other related problems of the patient at home
  • Communicate with physicians and other medical professionals for continuity of care
  • Disease management
  • Coordinating medical appointments
  • Medication reconcilliation

Skills

  • Prior home care experience strongly preferred, but not required (either as a nurse, CNA, or HHA)
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively after completion of training
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to undertake a variety of diverse care tasks and work in a multidisciplinary team
  • Familiarity with health, safety and sanitation standards and procedures
  • Understanding of confidentiality obligations and nursing best practices
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology
  • Good knowledge of MS Office and data entry
  • Good physical condition and stamina
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Compassionate and able to handle stress

Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of a practical nurse program
  • Active, unrestricted license in the state of Florida as a Licensed Practical Nurse
  • Valid Drivers license and social security card
  • Reliable transportation with active vehcile registration and insruance
  • BLS and First Aid (we can get you certified if needed)
  • Free from communicable diseaes
  • Smart phone or tablet access
  • Good narratve skills
