River States Truck and Trailer is Hiring a Diesel Technician (Vocational Heavy Truck) Near La Crosse, WI

Description:

  • Diagnosing, adjusting, repairing, and troubleshooting malfunctions using diagnostic tools & gauges on various types of truck equipment using critical thinking/problem solving.
  • Delivering productive results and demonstrating accountability while working with a high degree of independence.
  • Utilizing computer/devices to write an itemized summary of each repair performed and parts used.
  • Accurately completing DOT and other forms in a timely fashion.
  • Properly clocking on and off applicable repair orders and repair segments.
  • Maintaining neat and orderly work area and properly handling company tools.
  • Notifying the Service Advisor if additional repair work is necessary.
  • Being customer focused, actively listening to customer concerns and providing solutions.
  • Building trust, collaborating, and maintaining cooperative relationships.
  • Participating in training to stay relevant with new technology.
  • Adhering to and promoting company safety policy.
  • Working with and training apprentice diesel mechanics.
  • Performing other duties assigned by a manager/supervisor; being adaptable.

Compensation

  • Paid by-weekly

Work Schedule

  • 1st Shift & 2nd Shift Available!
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 1 year experience as a diesel technician on Class 6-8 vehicles.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Willingness to submit to and pass background check and drug screening test.
  • Necessary tools to perform position responsibilities.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • A positive team attitude is a must!

Preferred

  • Class A CDL
  • Technical degree
  • A/C, Brake, and DOT Annual Inspector Certifications
  • Specialize in specific areas (i.e. engine, drive train, brakes, etc.)
