River Hospital is Hiring a Patient sitter Near Alexandria, NY

We are looking for compassionate Patient Sitters to join our team!

In this role, you will be responsible for providing companionship and supervision to patients in a hospital setting. You will ensure that the patients are safe and comfortable while providing emotional support and assistance with activities of daily living.

You will also help patients to engage in activities to improve their well-being and quality of life. If you are passionate about providing compassionate care and have a strong commitment to patient safety, we would love to hear from you.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Preferably at least 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting
  • Ability to remain calm and provide compassionate care in challenging situations
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to follow doctor's orders and report any changes in the patient's condition
  • Ability to interact with patients in a caring and respectful manner
  • Ability to lift and move patients when necessary
  • Ability to assist with basic activities of daily living
  • Preferrably training in CPR and first aid certification but onsite training can be provided to the right candidate.

It is the employee’s responsibility to know the requirements for certification, limited permit and licensure for their individual profession.

It is also the responsibility of the employee to notify the employer of the status of any certification or licensure issue or potential issue.

The employee will comply with all of the requirements outlined by the New York State Office of professions for the particular profession.

Working conditions and Physical requirements

  • Regular day, evening, night, and weekend shifts.
  • OSHA Category A potential for exposure to blood and other infectious body substances.
  • Bending, lifting, standing, walking, must possess the physical ability to perform CPR.
