Once completed, the CSDC will be a 16-bed crisis stabilization unit for individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) and/or co-occurring IDD/BH diagnoses. Through a partnership with Mercer University School of Medicine, there will be additional space for outpatient clinic services such as primary medicine, dental, vision, podiatry, and other specialty services. BenefitsMedical, Dental and Vision InsurancePaid Time Off401k Match11 Paid HolidaysEmployee Discount ProgramVoluntary Insurance Position Summary The BCBA-D will oversee all behavioral services provided within the Crisis Stabilization Diagnostic Center and adhere to ongoing review and measurement of programs, services, and applications to comply with regulations, policies, procedures, and standards set by the Georgia Department of Behavior Health & Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD). The Board-Certified Behavioral Analyst - Doctoral (BCBA-D) will approach all services from a trauma-informed and holistic view for adults with IDD and/or co-occurring IDD/BH diagnoses. The Crisis Stabilization Diagnostic Center (CSDC) will provide comprehensive assessments, behavioral design, and intervention programs for individuals with Intellectual Disability Disorder (IDD) and behavioral challenges. DBHDD is looking for energetic, passionate, and caring individuals with an entrepreneurial spirit who will help us bring this vision of the CSDC to Macon, GA, if you are accustomed to working in a diverse work environment such as community organizations, schools, Community Service Boards or clinics and would like a challenging but fulfilling opportunity to enhance the quality of life for individuals through behavioral analysis. ResponsibilitiesThe BCBA-D will provide supervision to Board Certified Behavioral Analysis (BCBA) and other professionals implementing behavioral plans within the framework of the CDDC. The BCBA-D will participate in admission, treatment, and discharge planning meetings to ensure ethical compliance and adherence to ethical standards and guidelines and practice of behavioral analysis. The BCBA-D will review all Functional Behavior Plans, Behavior Support Plans, and Crisis Plans to be implemented. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to assess progress and modify intervention strategies when needed. The BCBA-D will function in the role of a BCBA’s responsibilities when there are resource challenges. The BCBA-D conducts thorough assessments to understand the individuals’ behavior and developmental needs and provide care when needed. BCBA will provide regular supervision to Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) who meet the current BACB supervision requirements.Provide professional development and training to staff, as needed, including applied behavior analysis, learning principles, skill acquisition, positive behavior supports, and behavioral issues to positively impact service delivery.BCBA-D will consult with all other clinic specialties and outpatient providers to ensure a holistic approach to treatment.The BCBA-D will work with individuals and groups to develop positive behavior supports. In this position, the BCBA-D will design and implement evidenced-based behavior intervention programs tailored to individual needs. The BCBA-D will model the behavior intervention, provide on-the-job training, and solicit ways to improve behavioral interventions when appropriate. In this position, you will work alongside RBTs and BCBAs to collect and analyze behavior data to provide safe and ethical resolutions to behavioral challenges when appropriate.The BCBA-D will observe and monitor client behavior to document behaviors and advocate for individuals with behavioral challenges to ensure they receive appropriate supports and services. The BCBA-D will conduct functional assessments and track progress using data analysis tools. The BCBA-D will provide ongoing training to staff to ensure proper implementation and understanding of Positive Behavior Support Plans, the importance of accurate documentation, and ethical practices.The BCBA-D will provide crisis intervention services as needed. Participate in enhanced crisis intervention de-escalation methods, communication, and documentation of incidents as required.The BCBA-D will review the behavioral data portion of the individual records to ensure that they comply with applicable rules and regulations. The BCBA-D will prepare and submit required reports and other documentation. This position will engage in research activities upon approval from DBHDD to contribute to the field of behavioral analysis and improve intervention approaches. The BCBA-D will function as a Developmental Disability Professional for those individuals with Behavior Support Plans. The BCBA-D will provide caregiver training before discharge and develop treatment summaries to ensure the family is equipped to provide continuity of care and has the appropriate resource information should the individual suffer a relapse of any kind. Technical Competencies Ethical Practices: Able to Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) Professional and Ethical Compliance Code for Behavior Analysts.Collaboration: Able to understand and interpret organization, state, and federal regulations set forth to include professional development, safety training, and confidentiality policies as required by DBHDD and collaborate with other behavioral professionals.Designing Intervention Plans: Able to design programs to meet the physical, social, and emotional needs of clients served while maximizing team collaboration, cooperation, and service integration across disciplines and the organization.Training: Ability to certify in the Mindset de-escalation methodology and provide training to other professionals. In addition to providing needed training to caregivers and other individuals involved in the individual’s care to ensure consistency.Emotional Intelligence: Must be able to remain calm emotionally and physically and refrain from responding inappropriately to irritate or upset clients who may attempt to evoke a response from the staff (such as calling names, spitting, or verbal threats)Data Collection, Experience with severe and challenging behaviors. Collect data on behaviors and analyze it to measure progress, make informed decisions, and adjust intervention strategies. QualificationsDoctoral Degree in Psychology, Applied Science, Clinical Psychology, Education, or a related field Board Certified Behavioral Analyst3-5 years of experience as a BCBA5 years of Management/Leadership experience3-5 years of experience in community or education-based behavioral health treatment Conditions of EmploymentValid Driver’s License or Identification with reliable transportation.Must pass an extensive background checkMust pass a pre-employment drug screenMust consent to TB test or Chest XrayMust submit and consent to three acceptable reference checksMust have the ability to pass basic CPR and first aid; Mindset and other required training (examples are HRST, SIS, and ISP offered by DBHDD)Sign Developmental Disabilities Professional (DDP) description
