Responsibilities:
River Crest Hospital (a UHS facility):
River Crest Hospital is a modern, 80-bed psychiatric hospital, specializing in the treatment of mental health and substance use disorders that can afflict individuals of all ages, from children and teens to adults and the elderly. We provide acute inpatient and outpatient psychiatric and addiction treatment programs. We are located in San Angelo, Texas. POSITION SUMMARY
The Transporter functions as an active part of the treatment team, responsible for transporting patients to and from the hospital from locations outside of San Angelo as well as within city. Patients ranging in age from children ages 5 -12, adolescents 13-17, and adults 18 and older. The transporter must also be therapeutic with patients and is able to intervene effectively in crisis situations.
This position double as a Mental Health Technician (MHT) when transportation is not needed, and per the facility's needs. MHT provides timely, safe, and effective patient care in the assigned area(s) in a manner consistent with the philosophy and objectives of the Hospital and within the framework of established policies and procedures. Qualifications:
Education: Graduate from an accredited high school program.

Experience:
Knowledge of patient care practices and procedures, Skills in oral communication, Ability to plan, organize and conduct patient pick-up, complete associated documents, and transport patients safely to and from facility.

Licensure:
Current: Current driver’s license with clean driving record (verified by MVR), Current CPR license and training, In-hospital training for Identifying and Preventing Aggression.
