POSITION SUMMARY

The Irrigation Foreman is an integral part of our Install and Maintenance teams. The Foreman oversees and coordinates a crew of two to four employees to process work orders for installation projects and works independently on maintenance services. The quality and customer satisfaction for each job will be the responsibility of the Irrigation Foreman. Daily equipment maintenance must be completed. This position will support other seasonal services as necessary. This is a full-time, seasonal position.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES & SKILLS

  • Leadership capability and demeanor to effectively manage and train a crew of two to four people
  • Thoroughly understand all aspects of irrigation installation and maintenance as outlined in company standard operating procedures
  • Familiar with all aspects of irrigation service and installation to include: wiring, controllers and valves, pressure testing, trenching/pulling pipe; installing heads, rotors, valves, main and lateral lines, drip line, etc.; operating equipment, maintaining inventory, installing and servicing commercial and residential irrigation systems
  • Able to operate equipment: trenchers, pullers, trucks, shovels, rakes, wheelbarrow, hand tools, and other equipment
  • Able to lay out a job site, interpret specs, install irrigation systems
  • Knowledgeable in residential and commercial irrigation system operation and familiar with Hunter controllers
  • Use multimeter to troubleshoot and repair irrigation electrical systems
  • Responsible for seasonal maintenance including start ups and blow outs
  • Able to keep jobs on schedule and on budget while meeting production rates and maintaining quality standards
  • Ensure safety procedures are followed, accidents and workers’ compensation claims are properly documented and reported
  • Follow all instructions given by the Supervisor
  • Prepare vehicles and equipment for the day’s work
  • Demonstrate customer service and professionalism, communicating effectively with customers and co-workers
  • Ability to use landscape software as needed to perform tasks
  • Be self sufficient and work effectively with little supervision

  • Seasonal duties include snow removal and assistance in other departments as needed
  • Proficient in or able to learn customer relationship management and estimating software

EDUCATION & REQUIREMENTS

  • 2 years of experience preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience
  • Possess valid driver’s license and must be insurable on company’s insurance policy
  • Ability to obtain a CDL class A combination license
  • Pass a pre-employment and ongoing random drug tests

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Must maintain regular and reliable attendance at a level acceptable to the company, including the ability to work overtime, holidays, evenings or weekends as necessary.
  • Able to lift/carry 50 lbs. on a regular and consistent basis, move about the work site
  • Exposed to exterior elements (i.e. pollen, chemicals, cold and heat, etc.)
  • Extended periods of activity; walking, standing, kneeling, bending and lifting
  • Typical work week requires 40-55 hours, some Saturdays as needed

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • Wages start at $20.86/hour
