Position Overview: 

RIVA is seeking a Database Developer to join our team providing functional and technical solutions to sustain and maintain a family of Medical Systems, as well as transition Medical System production environments to the Cloud in support of an Air Force client located in Montgomery, AL. The Database Developers and System Administrators will be responsible for database development and administration to maintain and support system PMOs and medical information systems installations, and maintain, install and support AFMOWAP and MRDSS applications. This position reports directly to the DOD and National Security Portfolio Manager.

Responsibilities:

• Provide database development and administration to maintain and support the AFMOWAP/MRDSS PMOs and medical information systems installations. Provide updated database design’s entity relation diagrams when changes are made to the database design
• Ensure efficient operation of a multi-site installation that supports database administration, database analysis, database report production, database backup, and data dictionary administration for local and remote users. Maintain database health, troubleshooting database performance issues, tuning database, performing database backups, database updates, and other DBA actions as required
• Maintain a robust security posture for all database servers, to include securing remote DBA actions via Secure Shell (SSH), Virtual Private Network (VPN) and Secure File Transfer Protocol (SFTP). Develop and apply new database auditing procedures to comply with security requirements. Review and address possible security risks to the databases including user privileges, SQL injection, database access, and loss of database files. Configure and apply STIG to all database servers before implementation
• Design, create and maintain relational databases
• Work with technical development team on SQL, PL/SQL code optimization and performance tuning

Basic Qualifications:

• Tool for Oracle Application Developers (TOAD)
• Proven experience with database integrity, stability, availability, and security in cloud and non-cloud hosting environments
• Proven experience with relational database design
• Knowledge of database administration, performance tuning and management
• Experience designing data storage solutions for complex systems
• Experience working with complex SQL, PL/SQL queries
• Experience working in an Agile Environment involving multiple scrum teams working on complex software development

Preferred Qualifications:

• AF Medical IT Systems experience (i.e. Medical Readiness Decision Support System (MRDSS)) and the Air Force Medical Omnibus Web Applications Pool (AFMOWAP): Aeromedical Information Management Waiver Tracking System (AIMWTS), Medical Planning and Programming Tool (MPPT), Physical Examination Processing Program (PEPP), Radioactive Materials Management Information System – Web (RAMMIS-W), and Refractive Surgery Management System (RSMS))
• Experience leading the transition IT system production environments to the Cloud
• Knowledge of Air Force Medical Readiness Business Area
• Knowledge and experience at AFLCMC and/or PEO-BES
