Over Easy

Job Position: Assistant General Manager

Supervisor: General Manager

Overall

To always be asserted but especially when on duty or upper management is not in the building.

  • Supervises and achieves the highest standards in the overall operation of food and service areas in the restaurant they are facilitated with for Over Easy
  • Directs and supervises proper staffing, service, product quality and guest satisfaction in harmony with Over Easy’s Core Values
  • Directs and supervises a well maintained, clean and safe facility, fixtures, and equipment
  • Leads by example, maintains strong leadership, organizational and decision-making skills
  • Communicates clearly and effectively 
  • Ensures guest satisfaction at ALL times
  • Is required to work Wednesday and Thursday on the floor to cover GM’s day off. Friday-Sunday will be on the floor as well to focus on staff and guest satisfaction
  • HM can serve during the “shoulders” of the shift but never during the peak times 

(Generally, 8:00 am -1:00 pm)

Employees & Staffing

  • Oversees and works along side all FOH staff
  • Assists in the training process and is the primary lead in training and overseeing development of new staff
  • Works alongside and supports restaurant General Managers during busy periods
  • Always supports upper management’s systems and protocol
  • Conducts ongoing training in areas of service, alcohol, food, and personality for staff
  • Assists and takes note of disciplinary action/termination as needed, but does not have authority to do so

Service Standards

  • Oversees implementation and maintenance of all Over Easy service standards
  • Ensures compliance with all Over Easy’s standards, procedures, methods, and techniques
  • BOH – Food presentation and 101
  • FOH - Food delivery, service, and guest experience standards
  • Oversees accuracy, quality and timeliness of all dishes and beverages leaving the kitchen and bar

Product Standards

  • Maintains impeccable knowledge of Over Easy menu, dishes, ingredients, and recipes
  • Maintains extensive alcohol beverage service standards, ID checks, over serving etc

Guest Relation Standards

  • Oversees implementation and maintenance of all Over Easy guest relation standards
  • Oversees reservation system and procedures in house
  • Oversees POS system and procedures
  • Is capable of handling guest feedback and issues related to food, drink, or service
  • Communicates with guests and receives feedback good or bad
  • Welcomes and acknowledges regulars, VIP’s, large parties, etc

Work Environment

  • Oversees compliance with all Over Easy sanitation, health and safety standards and injury prevention standards
  • Oversees compliance with all Over Easy facility and equipment maintenance standards
  • Helps maintain and clean and safe work environment
  • Creates and maintains a positive work environment where all employees feel comfortable and are treated with respect 
  • Keeps moral high and staff having fun
  • Creates a culture that is passionate about the Guest Experience from the time they enter until the time they leave
  • Ensures that the environment of the restaurant will never be scarified including music, TV’s, staff engagement
  • Maintains the overall look of the Over Easy Brand

Financial Management

  • Assists and ensures proper food and beverage cost controls and procedures
  • Assists and ensures proper labor with timely cutting
  • Assists with keeping accurate reverse labor
  • Proper EOD when closing 

Communication & Presence

  • Leads by example
  • Maintains positive attendance record
  • Completes daily manager log
  • Conducts daily pre-shifts 
  • Completes daily paperwork if needed
  • Communicates in a timely manner via email or text to managers and owners as needed
  • Problem solves and resolves employee conflicts, irate customers, upset vendors
  • Utilization of software tools to record, monitor and achieve results
  • Restaurant 365, Toast POS & Payroll, Office 365

Requirements

Qualifications

Minimum 1 year work experience managing a restaurant with a staff of 10

Attention to detail

Strong leadership, organizational and decision-making skills

Able to communicate clear and effectively

Able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to fifty pounds.

Able to work in a standing position for extended periods of time

Exceptional hygiene and grooming habits
