POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for performing highly diversified inspections, tests, and troubleshooting on a variety of products including hoses, housings, fittings, gauges, and more.


RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • Test and inspect various products to determine conformance to drawings and specifications using a variety of inspection equipment, e.g., electronic height gauge, micrometer, caliper, ring gauges, plug gauges, thread gauges, comparator, torque analyzer, pressure calibrator, etc.
  • Program and run parts on Keyence IM-8030 Visual Inspection System
  • Examine products for visual defects including surface defects, cracks, pits, dents & dings, incomplete welds, etc.
  • Create Material Review Reports (MRR) and follows through to closure
  • Create Vendor Returned Material Authorization (VRMA) when defective parts are being returned to the supplier
  • Conduct first article inspections and documentation
  • Assure calibration of all tools used for product acceptance
  • Communicate with vendors regarding defective parts
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and improvement of the Quality Management System
  • Verify suppliers First Article Inspection (FAI) package includes material and processing certifications and completed FAI documentation including bubble print, all drawing notes, and characteristics measured and/or verified
  • Performs in-process inspection on critical processes
  • Work with production and/or engineering to help identify gaps where warranty trends are revealed
  • Perform work instruction review to assure that work instructions are up-to-date and being followed
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) on production issues
  • Participate in special inspection projects as required by quality, production, or engineering
  • Comply with safety regulations
  • Comply to standards and conduct UL testing
  • Other duties as assigned including training others on known processes


HOURS:

This is a full-time 40 hour per week role working four ten-hour days Monday – Thursday between the hours of 6:00am and 5:00pm. Occasionally longer hours may be required. Potential for occasional overtime and Saturdays.


REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 6 months related experience
  • Must have basic computer knowledge and ability to understand machinery
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals
  • Proficiency in reading and writing in English


PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • A degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering
  • Syteline ERP experience


SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, ETC:

  • Knowledgeable and skilled in the use of mechanical and electrical inspection instruments
  • Full understanding of arithmetic and geometry and a basic understanding of statistics is required
  • Must be highly self-motivated, work with minimal supervision and able to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary
  • Must be computer literate, especially strong with MS Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word applications
  • Must be adaptable and able to work with regular interruptions

  • Required to sit, stand, walk, handle or feel objects, tools and controls
  • Vision required to inspect products and documents in detail
  • Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, and to stoop, kneel, or crouch
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds; some work stations require lifting and/or moving up to 60 pounds


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing areas where under certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment, may work near moving equipment, and exposed to dust, odors, oil, fumes, and noise.
