RISING STARS ACADEMY is Hiring a Child Care Center Director Near Los Angeles, CA

This is a multi-license facility, serving infants through 12 years old. Candidates should have a strong background in child development, knowledge in community partnerships & subsidy programs, as well as a can-do attitude. Responsibilities and Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Supervision of a center with approximately 80 children at a multi-license facility including infant, preschool, and school-age children.
  • Supervisory responsibilities for staff team that includes maintaining
  • Planning and implementation of curriculum, family events, etc. site-wide.
  • Administrative paperwork in compliance with Title 22 and Community Care Licensing Division.
  • Supporting the operations of the childcare center in compliance with California Wage and Labor Laws and maintaining adult to child ratios in compliance with Title 22 and California Community Care Licensing Division.
  • Assistant in implementation of progressive behavior plans for children site-wide.
  • Communicating with co-workers and parents in a professional manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

  • (Option 1) 12 semester units in ECE or CD or Permit from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing
  • At least 3 semester units in a ECE or CD course that is specifically related to Infant and Toddler care.
  • 3 semester units in a ECE or CD course that is specifically related to Administration of a Child Care Center
  • Completion of the Child Care Center Record Keeping Orientation from California Community Care Licensing Division.

General Qualifications:

  • Age eighteen years or older
  • High school diploma or equivalent. Associates Degree or Bachelor Degree preferred.
  • Previous director experience working with children in a group setting.
  • Ability to plan, organize and implement age-appropriate/developmentally appropriate program activities.
  • Ability to develop positive, authentic relationships with people from different backgrounds
  • Strong character values (respect, responsibility, honesty, caring); strong communication skills; emotional maturity
  • Immunization & Physical: Current TB, influenza, pertussis, and measles vaccinations and physical exam
  • Upon hire, the Influenza Immunization may be declined by written declaration.
  • Must clear a background check including live scan, reference checks, etc.

Mandatory Training & Certifications:

  • EMSA approved Infant, Child and Adult CPR and Basic First Aid
  • Completion of Rising Stars Academy Workplace Harassment online training within 30 days of hire
  • California Child Care Preventative Health and Safety Training
  • Other training, as required for the position

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $22.00 per hour
