Job Details Job Location 518 BUSHWICK AVENUE - BROOKLYN, NY Position Type Full Time Education Level High School Salary Range $26.00 - $26.00 Hourly Travel Percentage None Job Shift Day Shift Job Category Nonprofit - Social Services Description ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Under the general supervision of the Supervisor of Community Foods and Nutrition Programs, the Assistant Program Associate will support RiseBoro Community Partnership's Wellness Rising program initiative that helps educate individuals on how food impacts health and well-being. The Assistant Program Associate is responsible for helping to ensure projects are organized and executed successfully. Specific duties and responsibilities include: General Responsibilities
Obtain and provide client referrals for a Community Health Worker as needed/requested
Assist the Food Pantry Manager with collecting and entering client data into the referral database
Assist in maintaining an accurate and organized inventory; ordering and receiving supplies and materials for all program areas
Other related duties as required by the Supervisor
Heath and Hospitals (H&H) Fresh Program
Attend various community locations for cooking sessions and assist in transporting all cooking materials and food supplies to designated cooking areas
Assist with the cooking area set upand breakdown
Prepare designated cooking areas with required ingredients and equipment; ensure food is washed and the area is sanitized and organized before the class
Research health topics for inclusion in a health and nutrition presentation that will be developed
Food Pantry
Monitor and track all incoming and outgoing pantry items
Coordinate pickup and delivery of donated foods when needed
Conduct weekly inspections of food items for freshness and their expiration dates to ensure they are within the appropriate timeframe for use
Provide timely responses to pantry requests as they come
Meet with Food Pantry clients and connect them to SNAP benefits, meals on wheels programs, food pantries closer to their homes

Ability to travel to and from designated community program-related sites as needed

Intermediate level computer proficiency using standard Microsoft Office Suite required, particularly MSWord, Outlook, and Excel
