Ripple Effects Community Inclusion Center is Hiring a Care Partner (CLS) Near Portage, MI

Purpose of the Role: The Care Partner at Ripple Effects Community Inclusion Center plays a crucial role in providing support and assistance to individuals with disabilities within our community center. This position focuses on facilitating participation in various center-based activities and programs, promoting independence, and enhancing social interaction and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Support and Facilitation:

  • Assist clients in participating in center-based activities such as recreational programs, social skills groups, and educational workshops.
  • Provide guidance and support in skills development and social interaction within the center environment.

Behavioral Support and Guidance:

  • Implement behavioral support strategies as outlined in individual care plans.
  • Collaborate with clients to manage and navigate social interactions and center dynamics.

Community Integration within Center:

  • Facilitate client involvement in group activities and community events hosted at the center.
  • Encourage and support clients in building relationships with peers and staff within the center.

Client Advocacy and Empowerment:

  • Advocate for clients' needs and preferences within the center’s programs.
  • Empower clients by promoting self-advocacy and active participation in center activities.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of client participation, progress, and behavioral observations.
  • Communicate regularly with the care team, including providing updates and reports on client engagement.

Requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • First aid certification preferred.
  • High School Diploma required; additional certification or training in disability support or related fields preferred.
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities, particularly in a community center or group setting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to engage effectively with diverse client populations.
  • Patience, empathy, and a commitment to providing supportive and empowering care.
  • Ability to work flexibly in response to varying program needs and client preferences.
  • Completion of any required background checks.
  • Adherence to ethical standards and a commitment to the mission and values of Ripple Effects Community Inclusion Center.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday

Ability to Relocate:

  • Portage, MI 49024: Relocate before starting work (Required)
