Basic requirements for employment:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age and able to provide documentation showing authorization to work in the U.S.
  • BSIS Valid Guard Card
  • BSIS Valid Exposed Permit

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

Armed security officers play a vital role by actively observing their surroundings, positively engaging with customers and associates, and responding to emergency situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Duties may include sitting and standing or walking in inclement weather conditions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Work schedules may consist of full or part-time shifts.
  • Be willing to work overtime when requested/needed.
  • Normal working hours include weekends, nights, and most holidays.
  • Security officers work in all weather conditions, rain, wind, cold, hot, and snow.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Additional Minimum License/Certification:

  • Be in possession of a current State of California Security Officer Guard Card and Exposed Firearm Permit from the State of California Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS)
  • Valid California Driver’s License or State ID Card
  • California Baton Permit Acquired within 6 months of hire.
  • A Taser Permit Acquired within 6 months of hire.
  • O/C Spray Permit Acquired within 6 months of hire.

Minimum Education/Experience:

  • Experience working in the security and/or customer service industry.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must possess strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in the exercise of sound decision making and defensive tactics.
  • Coordinates with others to ensure adequate coverage.
  • Ability to understand and interpret complex policies, procedures, and personnel guidelines and communicate that information to others.
  • Ability to learn and adhere to the Rio Vista Security departmental policies and procedures, personnel policies, laws, and requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience in general mediation communication skills, geared toward conflict resolution.
  • Must have the ability to assist in restraining and apprehending combative subjects.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 – 40 per week
