About the role

We are looking for a Technology Transfer Project Engineer, to play a crucial role in developing our Nuton technology into an optimized, commercial scale technology package.

This is a great opportunity for a mechanical engineer to use all your practical experience in establishing a new pioneering technology. You will work with our ESP (Engineering Service provider), equipment suppliers and global Nuton technology SMEs to drive creativity, decisions and outcomes that enables the Nuton technology to be realized in industry proven equipment and an optimized plant design.

Reporting to the Technology Transfer Manager and working in a challenging and exciting environment, you will be:

• Managing the ESP scope, contract and relationship
• Driving deep and rigorous options analysis throughout the gated design development process
• Establishing and maintaining a risk management process for design development
• Ensuring equipment and plant designs can satisfy and achieve the technology requirements
• Collaborating with the technical team and facilitating reviews with the Nuton technical experts during design development
• Participating and coordinating the Rio Tinto contingent with the equipment suppliers for reviews of their equipment in operation to validate equipment suitability
• Managing technical query and requests for information between the ESP and Nuton technical teams
• Ensuring adequate change management is carried out when material changes to the Nuton technology are proposed
• Supporting detailed design, fabrication, operational readiness, commissioning, start-up and performance guarantee testing 

What you’ll bring

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have.

• A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
• A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
• Demonstrated Experience in project and engineering management at an operations plant, processing facility or mining site
• Demonstrated experience in equipment and plant design development complemented by experience in the field to ensure operability and maintainability
• Ability to manage and facilitate creative thinking to optimize design outcomes

The role will be based in Salt Lake City, Utah. There will be some domestic travel and minimal international travel required.
