About the role

We are looking for an IT Support Analyst for our Resolution Copper Site to support a world-Class joint venture, co-owned by two global industry leaders, in a unique opportunity to support the entire enterprise as we prepare to start production. This role will Be the primary funnel for Support requests initiated by end users on the mine site. It will be the responsibility of the Role to provide troubleshooting assistance, to be “boots on the ground” for remote support agents, and to properly and efficiently delegate tasks outside of the roles scope to the appropriate resolution team.

This role is a great opportunity for a technically driven enthusiast who is interested in getting their hands on interesting systems and serving a varied customer base. This role requires you to be on site all days, reporting to the Superintendent Site Support , you will be:

  • Providing on-site support services to customers in Arizona
  • Operating within IS&T processes and framework
  • Providing on-site presence and support for IS&T customers
  • Acting as the local site contact for remote resolver groups and IS&T partners to ensure customer expectations and/or site requirements are achieved
  • Contributing to the IS&T customer service reputation by maintaining a high level of customer-focused service through consistent delivery of professional and polite support
  • Managing and aligning customer expectations against IS&T priorities to ensure all incidents and requests are managed in line with operational requirements
  • Attaining a good understanding of the operational activities to ensure business impacts are minimized by outages/incidents
  • Providing on-site technical leadership to less experienced resources to ensure service standards are maintained
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of toolsets and technologies required to effectively perform the role

What you will bring

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:

  • Good relationship building skills
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience providing IT support including both Hardware and Software
  • Knowledge of general IT functions and remedial activities
  • Knowledge of Incident Management process
  • Knowledge of Customer Service communication and communicating technical resolutions in a business context
  • Communicating effectively in a clear, layman manner to customers in person, over the phone, and via email regarding IS&T issues/requests
  • Ability to prioritise tasks to ensure business demands/requirements are managed effectively
  • Apply specialist technical knowledge to achieve operational effectiveness

It will also be beneficial if you have: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT is a plus

Where you will be working

Once in operation, Resolution Copper has the potential to supply nearly 25% of US copper demand and create several thousand direct and indirect jobs in the Pioneer Mining District of Arizona, with an economic value estimated at several billion dollars over the mine life.

The project will rely on a block caving technique to extract the deposit that lies more than 2,000 metres below the surface. This method uses gravity to remove the ore and is the most viable way to recover the resource.

In 2019, the project achieved a significant milestone – issuance of the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) by the US Forest Service (USFS). In anticipation of the Final EIS in 2020, Resolution Copper continues permitting and community engagement activities, reclamation of the historic Magma Mine site, shaft and underground development studies, and advancing data collection to further orebody knowledge.
