Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Surgery Scheduler. As a Surgery Scheduler, you will play a crucial role in coordinating and scheduling surgical procedures for our patients. This position requires strong administrative skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced medical environment.

Responsibilities:

- Schedule surgical procedures, ensuring appropriate time slots and resources are allocated

- Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to schedule surgeries

- Obtain necessary pre-authorization and insurance verification for surgical procedures

- Communicate with patients to provide pre-operative instructions and answer any questions or concerns

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of scheduled surgeries and patient information

- Collaborate with the administrative team to ensure smooth workflow and efficient scheduling processes

- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times

Skills:

- Strong knowledge of medical administrative support processes and procedures

- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively

- Proficient in using various computer systems and software, including Epic or similar electronic medical record (EMR) systems

- Exceptional attention to detail to ensure accurate scheduling and documentation

- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment

- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

- Previous experience as a surgery scheduler or in a similar administrative role within a healthcare setting is preferred

- Familiarity with receptionist or front office operations is a plus
