Rincon Consultants is Hiring a Remote Air Quality/GHG Specialist

Rincon Consultants, Inc. is seeking a (Junior to Mid-Level) Air Quality Specialist who will focus on conducting air quality, health risk, and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions analyses, with secondary responsibilities pertaining to general environmental compliance. This position requires knowledge of modeling techniques and regulatory requirements, clear writing and oral communication skills, interpersonal skills, and may require occasional travel. This position allows you to work from any of our 13 office locations, and also provides the option for a hybrid/remote work arrangement within California.Overview of Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Prepare air quality/health risk/GHG emissions assessments in compliance with CEQA/NEPA for various projects, ranging from project-level development to regional land use programs (e.g., regional transportation plans/general plans/climate action plans) 
  • Conduct criteria pollutant emissions modeling 
  • Complete dispersion modeling/Health Risk Assessments 
  • Participate in regulatory permitting 
This Job Might Be For You If You Have The Following: 
  • Bachelor’s degree higher in environmental science, meteorology, or related field
  • 2 years of related professional experience 
  • Experience completing CEQA/NEPA air quality and GHG assessments 
  • Familiarity with appropriate air quality impact assessment guidance/requirements such as those issued by the US EPA, CARB, OEHHA, and local air districts 
  • Knowledge of air emissions modeling software, such as CalEEMod, ISC/AERMOD, HARP, OFFROAD, and MOVES/EMFAC, and other emission modeling methods such as US EPA AP-42 
  • Knowledge of the latest GHG emissions regulations and legislation
  • Detail-oriented, resourceful, and innovative 
  • Experience or interest in environmental noise assessment is a plus 
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; ability to work effectively within a group, as well as independently 
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, and to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities
