Shift: C or D Shift (Friday - Sunday)
C Shift - 5AM - 5PM
D Shift - 5PM - 5AM
Training on A Shift (Monday - Thursday 5AM - 3PM)
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Possess the ability to run all machines in the department producing as many quality parts as possible while striving for maximum production at all times. Responsible for the overall operation of one or more small machines. Must be capable of obtaining rates on all machines. Maintains quality standards as outlined in the Quality Management Systems procedures and work instructions. Work independently on regularly scheduled tasks with periodic interaction with manager, supervisor and shift leader to describe progress on special assignments. Work is guided by established company policy and quality requirements of customers. Work does not involve direction or supervision of other employees.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Possess knowledge of blueprints, gaging and equipment specific to the job. General educational background with both written and verbal communication skills typically acquired through completion of high school. Experience preferred.
DUTIES:
Must be capable of running all machines in the department, producing as many quality parts as possible while striving for maximum quality and production at all times.
Clean shavings out of the machine being run.
Inspect parts visually and with measuring devices to assure quality per blueprint specifications
Notify supervisor or shift leader when running low on stock.
Follow Management Systems procedures and work instructions.
Participate in SysteManagment meetings on a regular basis.
Communicate with managers, supervisors, shift leaders, set up personnel and other machine operators regarding the general operation of the machine.
Observe blueprint for all dimensions and requirements to assure maximum quality and production.
Check measuring devices for accuracy.
Complete necessary paperwork. This includes, but is not limited to, production sheets, production charts, hold up cards, bar coding transactions, etc.
Participate in the continuous improvement, research and recommendations for all operational processes.
Maintain a clean, safe and efficient work environment by following the 5S principles.
Complete all other specially assigned tasks or projects.
RESPONSIBILITY, ACCOUNTABILITY AND AUTHORITY:
Support production of profitable product.
Responsible for meeting blueprint requirements.
Responsible to meet production rate.
Responsible to tag product appropriately.
Responsible for ensuring accuracy of QAD entries.
Responsible to follow machine operator and set up instructions including Quality Management System requirements, inspection instructions, preventative maintenance schedules and set up/layout requirements.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Employee will be exposed to the noise, fumes and temperature extremes typically found in a light manufacturing environment. Risk of injury from being in close proximity of operating machinery is possible, but unlikely if proper safety precautions are followed. Lifting requirements for this position dictate that the employee must be physically capable of lifting a minimum of 40# on a repetitive basis and a maximum of 70# on an occasional basis.
