Safety and Training Supervisor Freeport McMorran Arizona Operations

Riley Industrial Services headquartered in Farmington, NM is seeking a long term, dynamic and driven safety-training supervisor whose role will have a heavy emphasis on training. Riley Industrial Services is a regional specialized industrial service company that has offices in Farmington NM, Carlsbad NM, Odessa TX, Lubbock TX, Morenci AZ, Show Low AZ, and Phoenix AZ. The company performs work from Idaho to southern Texas focusing primarily in the mid-southwest states. Riley Industrial has a large exposure in mining (MSHA) and has one division dedicated to Freeport McMorran as well as numerous large coal fired power plants across the southwest. THIS POSITION IS FOR OUR MORENCI/SAFFORD, AZ FREEPORT MCMORRAN OPERATIONS. (Wage is DOE and is above the industry standard and will be discussed during the interview). $40/hr (Depending on Experience)

· Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in safety and prior training work experience.

· This is a full-time on-site position with candidate having to live within 50 miles of the mine site located at Morenci AZ. Any days off travel and any non-work commuting will have to be conducted in personal vehicle.

· Must possess a current driver license and pass our MVR and background requirements.

· Must also be able to pass a DOT physical which is required be able to drive company vehicles.

· Some travel will be required around assigned regional areas.

· Will train employees for all safety related job requirements including but not limited to MSHA, Confined Space Entry, H2S, fall protection, competent scaffold erection, First Aid/CPR and or lead abatement or other required specialty classes.

· Preference will be given to a current MSHA instructor with current blue card.

· Write safety programs and SOP’s.

· Work with our work comp carriers to manage any and all claims including return to duty status if applicable.

· Track and report our annual EMOD information and ratings.

· Conduct all site safety meetings as required.

· Perform regular and frequent field audits. This will entail 50% of your time.

· Keep immaculate employee records, training data and files.

· Deal with OSHA and MSHA in regards to site visits or compliance.

· Ensure compliance with all Federal and State laws.

· Comprehension of DOT regulations and their application.

· Must be very computer literate and fluent in Xcel, Word and Power Point.

· Able to lead and conduct company safety meetings in front of large audiences.

· Will be requested to sign a non-compete employment agreement to not work for a competitor company within 250 miles of Morenci office if ever leaving our employment. This requirement has additional one-time compensation to the safety position for agreeing to it.

· Deal with all client safety related matters or issues.

· Perform any tasks as requested by senior management.

· Substitute and assist other offices when other area safety managers are on leave or absent.
