What You’ll Do and Who You Are:The good news is that your training will teach you everything you need to know to succeed on the job. But there are a few character traits you should have from the get-go. We have a great work culture at Right at Home and look for people with a similar mindset:

  • You don’t mind getting a little dirty … this could include (but is not limited to) assisting the patient with activities of daily living such as providing assistance with personal hygiene (toileting, bathing, care of mouth, skin, and hair), ambulation, eating, dressing, shaving, light housekeeping, and other household chores.
  • You don’t have to be a gourmet chef, but you can prepare a good meal and work your way around a kitchen.
  • You establish “partner” relationships with the client by providing companionship during activities such as accompanying the client on walks, trips to social/recreational activities, assistance with hobbies, etc.
Must Haves:
  • At least 16 years old
  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • Able to pass a criminal background check
  • High school degree and/or a G.E.D. certificate
  • Six months of experience as a professional caregiver
  • Meets the requirements for employees providing direct patient care
  • Have a valid driver’s license and use of an insured automobile for work or access to adequate transportation
