Riega Foods, LLC., is a family owned and operated organic herb, spice, and spice blend manufacturer in Kansas City, MO. We are a fast-growing company looking for a Production Operator to join our team. This is a First Shift position, 5:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday, with occasional overtime on Friday based on business needs. Production environment is climate controlled. Job Description

Leads a production crew on a bottling or pouching production line. Performs various tasks, including, but not limited to: operating, setup/changeover, minor mechanical adjustments and sanitizing of the production equipment. Cross-trained on all production equipment/lines. Completes Redzone quality checks and downtime accurately, as well as production paperwork. Is proficient with the use of manual and powered floor jacks. 

Job Responsibilities

• Champion safety and quality guidelines
• Prepare production equipment for runs including proper safety checks and documentation
• Operate all production equipment; lead team operating the applicable production line to meet daily production goals
• Conduct efficient product change overs
• Maintain production areas in proper state of cleanliness and follow all SOPs; follow GMPs and keep company in compliance with certifications (Organic, Kosher, HACCP, SQF, etc.)
• Perform Redzone production counts, quality checks and downtime recording
• Maintain 5s in the production department
• Properly handle blends and materials
• Report on defective ingredients or machinery

Requirements and Skills

• Previous food manufacturing experience strongly preferred. Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), safety and PPE requirements.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus, but not required
• Knowledge of manual and power jack and forklift operation (training will be provided, as necessary)
• Basic reading and math skills
• Basic computer skills; Redzone experience a plus, but not required
• Attention to detail
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to lift 55 lbs.

Compensation

Starting at $19.50/hour and up based on experience.
