Job Description

Position Description:

Each teacher reports to the Head of School (HOS). Teachers will plan, organize, and implement an appropriate instructional program in a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their potential. This includes, but is not necessarily limited to, the following areas:

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences. Use the established preschool curriculum as your guide.
  • Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
  • Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities.
  • Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment.
  • Integrate character education into the curriculum.
  • Use relevant technology to support instruction.
  • Observe and evaluate each student’s performance and development.
  • Monitor the progress of individual students, and provide appropriate feedback on work in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of students’ progress and development on Gradelink.
  • Update all necessary records accurately and completely as required by law and school policies.
  • Prepare required reports on students and activities.
  • Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.
  • Perform support duties including student support, counseling students with academic problems, and providing student encouragement.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities such as social activities and performances.
  • Participate in school meetings and parent meetings.
  • Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents regarding student progress and student needs.
  • Keep updated with developments in subject area, teaching resources and methods; and make relevant changes to instructional plans and activities.
  • Utilize curricula that reflects the diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the students.
  • Coordinate with other colleagues and the HOS.
  • Teach students ethical and moral ways to live in the society.
  • Maintain and complete professional development hours required by ODE for preschool staff.

Terms of Employment:

  • Nine and one half (9.5) month position
  • Monday – Friday; 7:30am – 4:15pm
  • Attendance at all school events

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Hold (or be eligible to hold) a current license as a teacher within the State of Ohio appropriate to their teaching assignment.
  • Knowledge of educational technology.
  • Montessori Certification preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $30,571.11 per year
