POSITION SUMMARY

The Utilityis responsible for assisting in the efficient operation of the kitchen ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of all dishes, utensils, pots/pans, and kitchen equipment. They are responsible for operating dishwashing equipment and sinks, removing garbage, cleaning kitchen equipment, and maintaining work areas including the sweeping and mopping of floors.

RESPONSIBILITIES Other responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Scrub and wash pots and pans manually using a 3-compartment sink or dish machine
• Ensure all dishes and equipment are sanitized and stored properly
• Sort and stack clean equipment in the appropriate storage areas
• Clean kitchen equipment such as stoves, ovens, grills, and fryers as needed
• Sweep and mop kitchen and prep areas as needed
• Maintain a clean and organized dish room
• Empty trash cans throughout the shift, and at the end of the day
• Ensure all dishes, pots, and pans are cleaned at the end of the day
• Drain all sinks, ensuring no items are left to soak overnight
• Clean and sanitize sinks and dish machines at the end of the day
• Perform regular maintenance on dish machines per provided guidelines
• Performs other duties associated with the position that are reasonably assigned to support the overall needs of the business

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 1 years of experience preferred
• Knowledge of kitchen sanitation
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
• Ability to lift and carry heavy items, such as tables, kitchen equipment, trash/recycling, and boxes of dishes

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use their hands; reach with hands and arms; and climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to sit and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Any object weighing more than 60 pounds will require assistance.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to work in a hot and humid environment with temperatures of more than 85 degrees.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
