JOIN OUR TEAM AS A ACTIVITY THERAPIST!

The Activity Therapist is responsible for planning and implementing activity services for the assigned program, which involves defining and implementing treatment goals as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team and providing continuous patient care, observation, interaction, and role modeling to patients. Experience and/or certification in Art Therapy is a plus!

Duties and responsibilities:

1. Demonstrate responsibility for observation and application of sound judgment in patients' physical and mental condition/needs.
2. Observe and document changes in patients' appearance, behavior, and ability to work towards treatment plan goals.
3. Ensure timely documentation of interventions and ensure interventions are based on the patient's plan of care.
4. as well as outside the hospital as required.
5. Monitor therapeutic space, supplies and equipment and ensures they are kept in a clean, orderly and safe condition.
6. Report therapeutic services charges daily, substantiating any changes in the treatment notes.
7. Provide direction, education, and in-service to other unit personnel regarding activity therapy.
8. Contribute to treatment plan with specific goals and interventions to be achieved in therapeutic activities.

Qualifications

Your Experience Matters What we’re looking for:

Education: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Occupational, Art, Music, or Recreational Therapy, humanities, social work or related therapeutic discipline, or a Master’s degree preferred.

Experience: One (1) year of related experience, with a knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness, preferred.

Licensure: Certification or licensure by state of Georgia and/or national governing body in of the following areas: art, occupational, recreation, or music therapy.

Additional Requirements: Successful completion of CPR Certification/First Aid and successful completion of CPI prior to assisting with a restraining procedure and within orientation period. May be required to work overtime and flexible hours. Current Lifeguard and First Aid certifications if conducting swimming activities.

Compensation:

This is a Full Time role and the expected compensation range is $18.00 to $22.00/hour. We’re eager to engage with all qualified candidates, and consideration will be provided to experience and skill level. Join us as our Inpatient Activity/Recreational Therapist!
