FULL TIME Experienced Shuttle Driver needed to drive local Roanoke routes.

Ride Source operates Friday's, Saturday's, Sunday’s and holiday Monday’s. Optional on Thursdays and/or Mondays.

We specialize in corporate transportation, wedding and event transportation and fixed route shuttle service. We pride ourselves on the service we provide from initial inquiry to final passenger drop off.

Ride Source is currently looking for Commercial Driver’s License with a passenger endorsement who will be tasked with safely dropping off and picking up riders on the fixed-route loop.

How You Will Make a Difference:

• Safely negotiate various routes through varied terrain and geographic areas in a commercial bus
• Properly secure wheelchairs, walkers and other items to shuttle
• Regularly inspect all assigned equipment and report repair/maintenance requests to Operations
• Maintain vehicle in a clean and fueled state of readiness
• Maintain all motor vehicle logs, documentation, and driving standards as required by the Department of Transportation (DOT), Federal/State authorities, and the company
• Check the condition of a vehicle, tires, brakes, windshield wipers, lights, oil, fuel, water and safety equipment to ensure everything is in working order
• Comply with traffic regulations in order to operate vehicles in a safe and courteous manner
• Review route assignments and schedules with Operations, and ensure all information is fully understood before departing
• Interact with clients, customers, sub-contracted drivers, and fellow company drivers onsite in a courteous, friendly, and professional manner
• Provide operational feedback to Operations to help improve service response
• Perform duties and functions to help streamline daily business operations
• Inspect vehicle for items left behind and coordinate immediate return to customer when possible, or submit to Operations

Required Experience:

• Must be at least 25 years of age to satisfy insurance requirements
• Must have at least three years of verifiable professional driving experience
• Valid CDL with Passenger Endorsement (Air Brake Endorsement a plus)
• Clean DMV Driver History Record less than 30 days old
• Current DMV Medical Certificate Card
• Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and a background check
• Must not be disqualified to drive a commercial motor vehicle as per CFR 391.15
• Working knowledge and understanding of Motor Carrier Safety regulations
• Safety and customer-service oriented
• Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to speak, read, and write fluently in English
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in a courteous manner in keeping with the Company's standards of conduct, and abide by all safety requirements
• Must be punctual, dedicated, work safely, and have a positive attitude

• 20/20 vision or corrected lenses required

• Must be able to bend to secure wheel chairs in the vehicle

• Move up and down stairs easily
• Lift, push, pull and carry tools, objects, or equipment above shoulder level without assistance
• Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping
