Ride North is looking for a motivated Service Writer/Advisor to assist in our new store in Escanaba scheduled to open later this year.

Service writer/ Advisors initiates services and repairs by ascertaining performance problems and services requested. Service Writers/ Advisors verify warranty and service contract coverage; develop estimates; writing repair orders; maintaining customer rapport and records. Watching for any additional work on current customers units, and anticipating/advising customers to come in for work.

What you will do:

• Ascertains problems and services by listening to customer's description of symptoms; clarifying description of problems; conducting inspections; taking test drives; checking vehicle maintenance records; examining service schedules.
• Verifies warranty and service contract coverage by examining records and papers; explaining provisions and exclusions.
• Develops estimates by costing materials, supplies, and labor; calculating customer's payment, including deductibles.
• Prepares repair orders (RO) by describing symptoms, problems, and causes discovered, as well as repairs and services required; obtaining approval signatures; entering RO into service database system.
• Maintains customer rapport by explaining estimates and expected return of vehicle; obtaining customer's approval of estimates; obtaining and providing contact telephone numbers; answering questions and concerns; arranging towing and temporary transportation.
• Maintains records by recording problems and corrective actions planned.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading manufacturers' publications.
• Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
• Reviewing all recommended services in owners manual with each walk-in to promote additional services
• Calling all Outstanding Warranty, Recall, and other Recommended Services pertinent customers to promote more and appropriate service traffic
• Calling all 1st Service Customers Daily – Report is 30 days post deal finalization

What qualifications you must have:

• Highly Computer Literate with experience in mainstream office software products
• Highly Organized with a predisposition towards systematic processes without deviation
• Prefer cash handling experience.
• Excellent customer service and solid communication skills.
• Ability to learn new information quickly and juggle multiple tasks simultaneously.
