Richmond Professional Lab is a commercial photofinishing lab located at 7545 Midlothian Turnpike. We edit, print, and ship photo-related orders for over 2500 professional photography studios operating in all 50 states. We maintain a broad product line, which includes small and large format photographic prints, canvas wraps, vinyl banners, t-shirts, holiday cards, ornaments, and mugs. WE ARE SEEKING TO FILL A PREPRINT AREA LEAD POSITION WITHIN OUR PRODUCTION DEPARTMENT ON OUR 1ST SHIFT:

We are looking for an experienced Preprint Lead to help with the overall successful functionality of our Color Correction area. We work in a fast-paced environment and are passionate about finding ideal candidates to help our organization succeed. Our goal is to create a motivated and positive workspace with employees who are eager to learn and grow. We maintain a staff of over 100 permanent employees, plus 200 seasonal employees depending on the time of year. Our business is highly cyclical, with two busy seasons per year – spring and fall. The Area Lead position is considered a management role, reporting to the Production Performance Supervisor and assisting with mentoring, guiding, delegating, and supporting all Permanent Part-Time and Seasonal Associates within the area. The Area Lead will aid the Production Performance Supervisor in the overall operation of the production floor, strategy development, and personnel evaluation. We’ll look to you to roll up your sleeves and truly get involved in the quality assurance process, including necessary troubleshooting and project improvement. This is a great opportunity to grow your leadership skills and to play a vital role in delivering and sustaining profitable growth.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the color correction of images ordered by clientele.
  • Maintain Preprint processes and procedures.
  • Guide, monitor, and lead team members within the sub-department.
  • Ensure all orders are completed on time.
  • Monitor, resolve, and report on the progress of Preprint issues.
  • Assist with the training and development of Preprint personnel.
  • Resolve any preprint related issues through internal communication channels.
  • Ensure all quality standards are met.
  • Use the order tracking and status software and processes (Labnet).
  • Effectively communicate with the next shift the status of the work for when they come in.

Job Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experienced in utilizing imaging software to correct color related issues or discrepancies for clientele.
  • Able to work both independently and within a team, generating results with general/minimal guidance from management.
  • High attention to detail and excellent interpersonal skills are a must.
  • Must be flexible, innovative, and comfortable in setting own priorities.
  • Proven track record leading teams to accomplish outlined goals and objectives.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma required; further education preferred.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of relevant leadership or management.
  • Prior experience in graphic design, photography, or Photoshop is preferred.

To be effective in this role, the applicant must be willing and capable of addressing the needs of the area and department in terms of both a technical component and leadership components.
