May provide budget input for sound, video, and lighting equipment purchases and maintenance.

Summary of Position:

The Streaming Technician will manage audio and visual elements for services and events (including live streaming) and will provide technical expertise and team leadership. The work averages 2 – 4 hours per week.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Coordinate and produce in-person and live-streamed services (weekly Sunday worship, church holiday services such as Christmas Eve, and special events as needed) which may include:

  • Manage sound production for both in-house and live-streamed services.
  • Manage video integration for both in-house and live-streamed services.
  • As needed, seamlessly integrate pre-recorded elements of worship into services.
  • As needed, assist congregants and staff in producing pre-recorded elements of worship.
  • As needed, compile and render pre-recorded elements of worship into a cohesive service.
  • Ensure both live-streamed and pre-recorded services are posted and appropriately linked on time.

2. Communicate directly with leadership including attending weekly staff meetings as requested in support of a cohesive, seamless experience.

3. Train and work directly with volunteers and manage the calendar of volunteers to ensure that services are adequately staffed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated skills in live-stream management, video production and editing, audio/sound design, and lighting.
  • Ability to work with, train, and delegate to volunteers at differing skill levels.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Required physical needs: must be able to easily climb a set of steep stairs (possibly several times a service), climb a ladder to adjust cameras or lighting, and to lift/carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Knowledge of and comfort with the Congregational Church theology and customs. (See our Mission Statement and our Covenant as a Community of Faith.)
  • Experience with Vegas Movie Studio Platinum or an equivalent video editing system.
  • Experience with PTZOptics PTZ Cameras, Blackmagic Design ATEM Television Studio HD, and live-streaming platforms (such as YouTube).
  • Experience with ProPresenter or an equivalent lyrics/video management system.

This position reports to the Director of Music.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 2 – 4 per week

Schedule:

  • 4 hour shift
  • Holidays
  • Weekends as needed

Experience:

  • Video Editing: 1 year (Preferred)
