Richmond Academy of Medicine Services Corporation is Hiring a Bi-lingual Intake Coordinator Near Richmond, VA

Position Responsibilities: The primary responsibility of this position is to coordinate the enrollment of patients into Access Now, provide billing resolution assistance and assist the Program Coordinator as needed. The coordinator verifies patient financial and medical eligibility, resolves patient’s bills, and participates as an essential team member to building Access Now’s capacity to meet the growing need for specialty care access in the Richmond community.

Major Duties:

  • Accepts applications and supporting documentation for the purpose of enrolling patients in Access Now
  • Ensures that referrals are appropriate for the program and that physicians and other providers volunteer's requirements for accepting patients are met
  • Assesses eligibility of clinic-referred patients for enrollment in Access Now
  • Verifies patient Medicaid status in DMAS portal
  • Processes receipt of referrals, enrollments and all other incoming documents from offices, clinics and patients using associated computer databases (Fhases and F-drive)
  • Reconciles associated computer databases (Fhases and F-drive)
  • Contacts patients when necessary to resolve enrollment discrepancies
  • Provides regular follow up to clinics regarding referrals that are Incomplete Request
  • Maintains and updates billing database
  • Provides patient billing resolution assistance
  • Processes value of services reported by participating physicians (HCFAs)
  • Processes patient records from specialists and forwards it to the primary care clinic
  • Distributes and processes incoming mail
  • Inputs data from Patient Satisfaction Survey responses and mails corresponding questionnaire
  • Makes recommendations for changes and improvements to the program services
  • Collaborates on the content, design, and distribution of communications materials
  • Interacts professionally on a regular basis with staff, clinics, physicians and the general public
  • Attends and participates in clinic meetings as needed
  • Produce reports on the utilization of services as needed by the program manager
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as needed or directed

Required Qualifications and Education:

  • Ability to read and fluently speak both English and Spanish
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and use of the internet
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Fast learner able to keep pace with a growing demand for program services
  • Ability to organize work, engage in a variety of tasks simultaneously and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Ability to demonstrate high attention to detail and good follow-up skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Comfortable with some public speaking and communications with the underserved patient population
  • Knowledge of the local health safety net and healthcare systems is a plus
  • Knowledge of health care terminology in both English and Spanish

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to communicate routinely via phone, personal contact, and via computer
  • Must have current driver’s license
  • May require occasional evenings

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
