Responsibilities:

Commercial Truck/Trailer Technician is to provide specialized skills in inspecting, repairing, and maintaining the components and systems of a variety of trucks/ trailers used for hauling large loads, as well as knowledge and skills in lift gate repairs. The ideal candidate will possess experience in truck/trailer repair including roof repair, suspensions, flooring, brakes, ABS systems, top and side rail repair and more. However, various levels of knowledge and experience can be considered.

• Inspect, service, and replace truck/trailer parts and service lift gates and repair as needed.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical issues.
• Diagnose and repair brake problems.
• Fabricate and weld parts using STICK/MIG welding processes with steel and aluminum.
• Utilize appropriate resources to determine most effective and efficient method for repair and locate parts.
• Cutting and grinding as needed.
• Perform quality checks following repairs.
• Completion of work orders in a timely manner.
• Document work completed for billing.
• Perform quality checks after repairs.
• Ensure work is done safely and meets quality standards.
• Keep work areas and service truck clean and organized and take proper care of all equipment and facilities.
• Follow all company rules and polices.
• Perform DOT/FHWA’s on trailers and PM & service lift gates
• Service and repair swing and roll doors.
• Provide a great level of attention to detail.
• Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency.

Requirements:

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Ability to perform shop math and read a tape measure.
• Ability to operate machines, hand tools, and other job specific equipment and tools.
• Experience with STICK/MIG welding aluminum and steel.
• Ability to demonstrate successful welding skills in non-standard situations and on varying materials is a plus.
• Occasionally lift raw materials, final products, and items manually (up to 100 pounds).
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Knowledge of safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face shields, gloves, etc.).
• Ability to work efficiently and independently with minimal supervision.
• Detail oriented, self-directed, good communication, and personal skills.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Must be reliable, with a strong work ethic and desire to contribute to a team.
• Willing to work 40 hours weekly.
• Applicants must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• Personal tools required (list available upon request).
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening is required.
• Random drug testing required after employment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $32.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
