The office is closed on Wednesdays. Hours- 8 am to 5 pm
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Medical Receptionist. As the first point of contact for our medical office, you will play a crucial role in providing excellent customer service to our patients and ensuring the smooth operation of the front desk. We seek someone with competent computer skills and a medical coding/billing ICD 10 background. Prior authorization experience is also beneficial.

Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner
- Answer phone calls and schedule appointments using our electronic scheduling system
- Verify patient information and insurance coverage
- Collect co-pays and process payments
- Maintain patient records and ensure accuracy of information
- Assist with medical billing and coding tasks
- Follow HIPAA guidelines to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality
- Coordinate referrals to other healthcare providers as needed
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail, faxes, and emails
- Perform general administrative tasks
- Perform prior authorizations
Requirements:
- Previous experience working at the front desk of a medical office or similar setting is preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology is highly desirable
- Proficiency in using phone systems and other office equipment
- Strong computer skills, experience with EMRs eMD and MD Office or similar software a plus
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and accuracy in handling patient information
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality
