BASIC fUNCTION:
This seasonal summer position will help primarily with building maintenance, updates and repairs of indoor areas but may include some outdoor yard projects as well. Responsibilities will largely include painting and upkeep of facility walls, office and production areas. Ensure safe working practices are followed. Perform work within acceptable quality and productivity standards. Complete and assist with other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR TASKS:
- Apply various finishes to buildings, rooms, or other structures, including primers or sealers.
- Prepares, cleans, and tapes all jobsites.
- Removes old paint coating, if necessary.
- Mixes colors or oils to obtain desired color or consistency.
- Experience in painting with various tools and in various heights and spaces
- Observe all safety measures.
- Must be reliable and possess great attention to detail in completing their duties.
- Collect and dispose of trash
- Remove and recycle cardboard and other recyclable materials
- Sweep, dust, vacuum and mop floors if needed following procedures
- Clean in manufacturing areas as directed
- Must follow all company safety rules and wear required proper protective equipment for task
- Notify direct supervisor of any equipment or tooling that is damaged or not working properly
OTHER JOB FUnCTIONS:
- Light clerical and inventory inspection
- Other tasks as assigned
Physical Demands and working conditions:
- Continuously walking and standing on concrete and tile floors
- Frequent lifting and carrying of less than 20 pounds
- Occasionally lifting, carrying or pushing 25-50 pounds
- Frequently pushing and pulling carts with cleaning supplies
- Frequent handling and gripping of cleaning equipment and hand tools
- Frequent use of sensory perception – vision, hearing, space and forms
- Frequent reading directions and troubleshooting
- Frequently using a variety of cleaning chemicals
- Frequent twisting and bending to reach surfaces
- Frequently reaching above and below shoulder level
- Work environment is both inside and outside with ongoing and frequent temperature fluctuations (summer/hot and winter/cold)
- Work environment has constant manufacturing noise, machine tooling dust and machine vapor fumes
- Climbing, crawling and comfortable working from varying heights
- Personal protective equipment for this position is constantly required

Minimum qualifications and prerequisites:
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or in process or equivalent
- Painting, Janitorial and cleaning experience preferred
Skills and Abilities
- Good communication and organizational skills
- Exceptional safety skills
- Good reading and/or symbol recognition skills
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions
- Ability to properly mix cleaning chemicals according to manufacturer’s recommendations
- Knowledge of use and care of cleaning equipment and hand tools
- General understanding of computer skills preferred
- Good teamwork skills and ability to collaborate with others
Certificates, Licenses, Training, or Other Job-Related Requirements
- Valid Wisconsin driver license preferred
