For over 75 years Rice Lake Weighing Systems (RLWS) has been a successful, growth-oriented company known as a leader in the weighing industry and our communities. Rice Lake Weighing Systems is seeking an Electrical Product Tech to join our team in Rice Lake, WI.
The core hours of this position will be Monday - Friday 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM with overtime as needed.
The EPD Tech Designs, Assembles and tests special products for customer orders following the customers specifications. Works as a member of a team maintaining self-directed work in order to obtain the highest level of quality and efficiency. Assist with process improvements to reduce costs and increase departmental efficiency. Creates schematic drawings of custom products based on customer specifications. Other functions as assigned.
ESSENTIAL JOB JUNCTIONS/MAJOR TASKS
Designs, Assembles and tests special or custom products needing distinct assemblies or set-ups following manufacturing orders specifications. Ensures products meet customer requirements. Communicates with sales and engineering as needed to clarify product requirements. Ability to perform basic through advanced level sales work orders.
Assist other assembly technicians with manufacturing assemblies and testing
Ensures close attention to precise details of instructions, electronics assembly prints and quality standards. Report any issues related to instructions or product quality.
Follows strict ESD guidelines and reads blueprints to perform accurate assembly.
Performs high reliability soldering.
Trains new and existing technicians on departmental procedures and assemblies.
Participates in electronics service/production cross-training program.
Performs basic programming.
Assist sales department with technical information, troubleshooting techniques, and phone support.
Assist communications department by setting up equipment - testing equipment.
Assist with the evaluation of department tooling needs.
Ability to read and write in the English language

PHYSICAL DEMANDS and WORKING CONDITIONS
Must be able to: stand or sit 8-10 hours a day, walk carry up to 35 pounds occasionally, frequently lift up to 35 pounds, Frequent handling, gripping and fine finger movements, reach above the shoulder occasionally, below the shoulder frequently. Must have the ability to converse with other teammates frequently. Must be able to see wiring colors, read prints and indicators
QUALIFICATIONS/PREREQUISITES
Education and Experience
Associates (AA) Degree in Electronics or related electronic field or four (4) or more years of equivalent assembly experience.
Skills
Good verbal and written communication skills.(In English)
Strong blue print reading skills.
Ability to design electrical control circuits and create schematic drawings
Strong small hand tools skills.
Strong general knowledge of electronic terminology.
Strong high reliability soldering skills.
Good electronic test equipment skills.
Good basic programming and set-up skills.
