Rhode Island Hospital is Hiring a Clinical Instructor - Sonography Near Providence, RI

Summary:
Reports to the Program Director for designated School of Medical Imaging. Is responsible for coordinating the educational programs at the various clinical sites for students to learn the applied aspects of their field. Prepares curriculum and teaches classes under the general direction of the Education Director.
Responsibilities:
In conjunction with the Program Director interviews candidates for the program and makes recommendations regarding qualification and eligibility of candidate admission.
Develops and oversees student orientation plan for their specific educational program.
In conjunction with the Program Director designs and evaluates curriculum compliance to meet recommendations and mandates from approving agencies and implements changes to meet evolving practices and community of care standards for the program
Assists the Program Director as needed in periodic reviews and revisions of didactic/clinical course material.
Provides both didactic and laboratory [clinical hands on] instruction as needed. Is responsible for all teaching activities in that specialty. May delegate specific teaching assignments to others as appropriate. Is responsible for validating clinical competencies and counsels students based on classroom and clinical scores and documented competencies.
Assists in the development and enforces overall school policies as well as those which apply specifically to a particular program.
Maintains current knowledge of students clinical progress particularly through feedback from certified clinical evaluators. Records and documents specific competencies for each student based on feedback and observations.
In conjunction with the Program Director makes recommendations and helps define agreements with Lifespan and non Lifespan facilities to establish new clinical sites for students. Once established oversees program related operations with respect to student and program satisfaction and compliance with approving agencies.
Is responsible for overseeing management individual students progress which includes but is not limited to career advising.. Provides counseling to help and support student progress through the program. Makes recommendations regarding students continued status in the program.
Maintains current knowledge of the professional discipline regulatory standards and educational methodologies through continuing professional development and pursuit of scholarly activities.
Represents program and department at hospital meetings and activities and to external agencies and organizations as requested. As required meets with administrators physicians and clinical affiliates on related issues.
Other information:BASIC KNOWLEDGE:
Bachelors degree required.
Proficiency in curriculum design program administration evaluation instruction and counseling.
Depending upon the modality specialty one of the following is required:
Demonstrate proficiency in curriculum design program administration evaluation instruction and counseling.
Current knowledge of federal state and regulatory agencies.
Ability to write and communicate effectively with all levels of hospital staff and faculty.
Analytical ability to assess federal and state laws and their impact on educational program and the collect statistics for accreditation process and for other uses of this information.
Possesses mature and even-handed approach and associated abilities to communicate and function as primary source of arbitration to resolve or make recommendation for conflict resolution.
Current knowledge of federal state and regulatory agencies.
Ability to write and communicate effectively with all levels of hospital staff faculty.
Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to patients throughout the life span with consideration of aging processes human development stages and cultural patterns in each step of the care process.
EXPERIENCE:
A minimum of 2 years clinical experience following AB or OB credentials both preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Normal office conditions with occasional exposure to patient treatment areas as required by in-service education.
Normal office conditions. Clinic conditions working with students to include site visits if applicable.

None.
