POSITION TITLE: Float MA/Nurse for Dallas/Plano/Frisco/Flower Mound

Job Summary:

The float MA will handlephone calls and voicemail from the patients who are seeking medical informationand/or medical attention. The float MA will address patient clinical questions,explaining/documenting laboratory results and pathology results, calling inprescription refills, explaining procedures/treatments, initiating priorauthorizations, and scheduling.

Minimum Job Requirements:

Education and Experience:

- High school Diploma

- Medical Assistant office experience

- EMR experience required

- E Clinical Works experience preferred

- Travel is required

Primary Duties:

- Travel between offices to aid in coverage

- Answering phone callsand voicemails

- Answering patientclinical questions

- Review medical historyand counsel patients regarding their clinical status and need for further evaluationor treatment

- Evaluate a newcomplaint by phone and triage to emergent, urgent, or routine appointment

- Prepare/sendconsultation letters with results or recommendations to referring physicians

- Locate laboratoryresults not yet in the patient’s medical records

- Explaining/documentinglaboratory results and pathology results

- Calling in prescriptionrefills

- Explaining proceduresand treatments

- Initiating priorauthorizations

- Schedules appointmentsand urgent visits as appropriate

- Documenting allinformation into the computer system

- Maintainingconfidentiality of all patient information

- Adheres to policies/safetypractices

- Performs other dutiesas assigned
