RGA is Hiring a Director GFS Administration Near Chesterfield, MO

Position Overview

Works with GFS Risk Management, Valuation, and Corporate Finance teams to ensure that GFS business is administered appropriately and accurately in line with treaty specification. This includes leading processes to monitor and report upon internal controls established to ensure GFS results are appropriately reported, and to provide current quarter reporting data in compliance with treaty terms. Reporting responsibilities also exist with external clients to provide accounting and policy reporting guidance in applying treaty provisions to highly complex, customized transactions.


Responsibilities

  • Understand and perform the administration of assigned reinsurance and direct treaties reflecting unique treaty structures for a variety of insurance products in multiple jurisdictions.
  • Preforms supervisory duties including hiring, training, coaching, and assigning work for team of data and administration analysts.
  • Handles escalations of data quality issues, business rules, and compliance items related to client policy reporting and settlement processing.
  • Monitor cash settlement process including timeliness of receipt per treaty terms, tracking of data, and settlement processing
  • Review client reporting and make recommendations for enhanced data reporting to support, calculation of seriatim benefits, administering settlements, and summarizing monthly transaction history for downstream stakeholders in Risk Management, Valuation, and Finance
  • Understand and reflect the financial consequences of highly complex, individually tailored treaty provisions and how they apply to the monitoring of existing treaties as part of a product specific risk framework.
  • Participate in special projects, committees, and meetings as required.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or related equivalent experience
  • 8 years of insurance, accounting, risk management, or audit related experience
  • 1-2 years experience in a senior technical/professional/supervisory position
  • Understanding of actuarial principals
  • Advanced life insurance and/or reinsurance and product knowledge
  • Familiarity with MS Excel and MS PowerPoint with demonstrated clarity in their use
  • Ability to identify issues and resolve or raise to appropriate level
  • Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to prioritize detail with overview
  • Ability to utilize resources across business segment and company and be effective in a matrix organization
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills including presentation skills, demonstrating the ability to convey information in a way that is meaningful and well received by stakeholders and team members.
  • Advanced ability to liaise with individuals across a wide variety of operational, functional and technical disciplines
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative and assume accountability
  • Advanced investigative, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Advanced ability to translate business needs and problems into viable/accepted solutions
  • Ability to work well within a team environment and collaborate on broad departmental projects
  • Must be flexible, adaptive to change, and productive when faced with ambiguity in an assignment setting
  • Ability to translate strategy into multiple tactical directions
  • Ability to execute tasks on systematic basis and commit to assignments through completion
  • Ability to advance operational improvements over time

Preferred:

  • 10 years of Accounting / Audit Risk Management experience or comparable role
