Basic Function:

The Director, Brand.com Ecommerce Merchandising & Operations is responsible for building and executing the ecommerce strategy, creating a world-class experience for consumers, and running the overall sales for RGB portfolios of brand.com businesses. Reporting to the SVP, DTC eCommerce & Creative, this person will build, manage, and lead the ecommerce experience across the RGB brand.com sites, including responsibility for merchandising, site & customer experience, as well as the product management. This role will closely collaborate with the Director of Ecommerce Marketing channels to drive the success of the brand.com businesses.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Develops and drives ecommerce strategy including channel differentiation to maximize the consumer value exchange.
  • Identifies, recommends, and executes strategies and tactics to further elevate the experience.
  • Ensures an exciting and evolving digital customer experience with a focus on storytelling through our product and digital capabilities.
  • Delivers RGB’s ambitious ecommerce revenue targets, including annual targets and long-range plans.
  • Builds cross-functional relationships with Brand Marketing, Creative, Sales, IT and Product teams to ensure alignment across ecommerce initiatives.
  • Collaborates with Brand and Product teams to develop vision and strategy for consumer experiences balancing business needs with technological capabilities.
  • Researches the industry trends, leading the e-commerce teams to test, learn, and capitalize on opportunities.
  • Works closely with Digital Marketing to create an industry leading shopping experience.
  • Develops best in class digital merchandizing capabilities with strong tie to brand storytelling.
  • Manages and optimizes the online assortment while managing seasonal promotions and price management, product, and content.
  • Partners with the Director of Ecommerce Marketing, delivers upon new customer acquisition and customer retention goals as key enablers of planned top line growth.
  • Collaborates effectively with technical teams to meet the needs of our consumer with broad implementation of personalized experiences.
  • Drives change by fostering a winning culture that elevates channel performance while driving teammate engagement.
  • Leads site merchandising team, maximizing opportunities through product story-telling and optimized consumer journey.
  • Leads the digital product teams to establish and executes an effective, prioritized roadmap to deliver on key initiatives.
  • Reinforces continuous Test & Learn effort.
  • Oversees and prioritizes project roadmap to maximize value.
  • Makes data driven decisions while constantly testing and learning and consistently providing post-program ROI analysis paired with consumer insights to make recommendations to increase sales and drive a premium brand experience.
  • Travel as required by the business.

Qualifications and Competencies:

  1. 10 years’ experience within the digital commerce or retail industry; Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a focus in business or marketing.
  2. The ideal candidate has a passion for developing consumer-centric strategies and commercial experiences across digital channels and understands all levers to drive a profitable e-commerce business.
  3. Background in retail ecommerce with a strong focus in merchandising; Retail eCommerce operations experience preferred; Overall planning and organizing competency needed.
  4. Strong understanding of e-commerce metrics, with a strategic approach on how to manipulate levers to drive a strong profitable business.
  5. Strong problem-solving, communication and presentation skills; Data driven and consumer obsessed is a must. Strong attention to details.
  6. Experience in ecommerce visual merchandising with a focus on optimizing the consumer journey, preferred.
  7. Experience working with a technology team preferred; including prioritizing projects based on LOE and ROI, while aligning with organizational and business unit goals.
  8. An ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, often ambiguous environment.
  9. An ability to work and learn independently and collaboratively on complementary teams.
  10. Experience managing and developing a diversified team; demonstrated ability to Lead with empathy, humility, integrity, accountability, and influence.
