RFA Engineering is Hiring a Mechanical Engineer II Near Montgomery, IL

RFA Engineering (www.rfamec.com) is an engineering service provider dedicated to delivering our clients with timely engineering support and expertise. We are seeking an experienced candidate to become an integral part of our engineering team. The selected candidate will work with an experienced engineering staff using state-of-the-art engineering tools & processes. This position will operate onsite at our customer's world-class engineering and manufacturing facility in Aurora, IL.

Mechanical Engineer II

Position is focused on design engineering, project management & supplier product application engineering for integration and optimization in mobile hydraulic systems. Activities encompass leading a global team including domestic and international engineers, hydraulic component suppliers and machine design teams to deliver innovative solutions aligned with vendor, client, and business needs.

Job Description

  • Responsible for design engineering, project management & supplier product application engineering for integration and optimization in mobile hydraulic systems.
  • Research, design, develop, manufacture, and test tools, engines, machines and other mechanical devices.
  • Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals to determine time and cost feasibility to complete projects.

  • Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and make recommendation to maintenance crew.

  • Assist drafters in developing the structural design of products using tools, equipment or software.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of design engineering experience.
  • Demonstrates a strong mechanical aptitude through work experience or hobbies.
  • Problem solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Must be a self-starter, good communication skills, able to thrive in a collaborative environment.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License.

Desired Experience

  • Experience with CAD modeling software (Creo Preferred) 
  • Experience with manufacturing, fabrication, or assembly operations.
  • Hydraulics development experience
