Description

Job Summary:

Lead investigation process of production machining/assembly/welding process and verify material characteristics against design specifications using various measuring instruments and processes. Supports development of supplier inspection procedures, plans, related inspection work instructions, forms that may be needed for the recording, analysis and disposition of supplier furnished product(s), etc. Supports methods and procedures relating to disposition of discrepant material and assists in devising / completing containment activities ensuring suspect supplier parts are not used in Reyco Granning products. Supports and assists in a team approach methodology to Practical Problem Solving (PPS) activities in the plant when requested. Supports manufacturing quality inspector(s) and engineers as needed.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Follows Reyco Granning policies and procedures to ensure quality standards are met
  • Supports the Quality Engineers’ efforts
  • Works with internal stakeholders to address and resolve product/process issues as they relate to supplier products, internal defects, and customer reported defects.
  • Participates in a team approach to root cause analysis efforts with the goal instituting sound corrective actions that eliminate the issue
  • Support verification that product received / inspected complies with applicable Reyco Granning specifications and requirements
  • Ensure quality and LEAN improvements are supported and 5S is an integral part of the quality technicians’ everyday tasks
  • Provide sorting assistance when suspect product is found
  • Capable of accurately inspecting parts using standard quality measurement tools (such as, but not limited to calipers, micrometers, height gages, thread gages, machinist square and measurement arm system (Hexagon).
  • Analyze SPC data for various manufacturing processes using statistics to ensure processes, and suppliers are producing quality parts
  • Lead and assists in a team approach methodology to Practical Problem Solving (PPS) activities in the plant.
  • Lead release and maintenance of quality alerts; scrap disposition per appropriate procedures
  • Support Engineering Change and Deviation activities
  • Willing to adapt and train on new technologies; including measurement and gaging system.

Qualifications / Training / Skill Requirements:

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Programs
  • Familiar with / able to use CMM or measurement arm systems
  • Able to perform detailed part inspections
  • Able to read and interpret blueprints correctly
  • Math skills
  • Familiar with APQ sampling plans
  • Familiar with MRP software
  • Exposure to ISO 9000, PPAP / ISIR requirements
  • A background in medium / heavy industrial applications and processes are a plus
  • A working knowledge of Practical Problem Solving (PPS)
  • Must have advanced understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Exposure to statistical problem-solving approach (SPC, CPK, PPK, trend analysis) a plus
  • Exposure to LEAN Manufacturing and continuous improvement is a plus

Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Associates degree preferred or equivalent work-related experience considered

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to stand/walk in excess of 8 hours per day
  • Ability to work in plant temperatures of 65 105 degrees
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds infrequently
